Fertility difficulties
Some couples working through fertility issues with their practitioners consider whether underlying food sensitivities and inflammation may be worth exploring as part of a holistic plan. ImuPro testing offers personalised information about potential food‑related triggers that are causing inflammation and can be reviewed in the context of your overall health. If you are unsure whether this test is suitable for your situation, please contact our team for support or speak directly with your clinician.
Uncomfortable symptoms that cannot be identified by routine tests
Bloating, irregular bowel habits, headaches, tiredness, sore joints or fluctuating energy can sometimes persist even when basic investigations come back normal. In these situations, targeted food sensitivity testing can help highlight patterns between your usual diet and your symptoms. Results are presented in a clear, structured format, making it easier to identify foods to trial and follow a step-by-step approach to elimination, provocation, and reintroduction, while continuing to support a balanced, nutrient-dense diet.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference with ImuPro’s Complete 270 test compared to other intolerance tests?
The ImuPro Complete 270 test uses blood serum for testing rather than hair, breath, skin-prick or skin-scratch testing. Our ELISA-based blood serum test is stable, reliable and completely reproducible. Other blood testing methods, including whole blood or cytotoxic testing, can be unreliable due to morphological changes taking place within the sample if it isn’t tested within a certain time-frame. Other blood test methods can be affected by drugs or medication. It is important to do your research and make an educated decision on which test method is best for you.
Does the Complete 270 help diagnose gluten or lactose intolerance?
All ImuPro IgG tests diagnose gluten intolerance (non-Coeliac gluten sensitivity) and provide gluten alternatives. This is different to Coeliac disease.
Lactose intolerance however is an enzyme deficiency not involving the immune system. People generally have issues with cow’s milk proteins, so even lactose-free milk can be a potential source of inflammation. The Complete 270 tests for cows milk products like milk, cheeses and yoghurt. This is important because each food contains unique proteins so your diet can be tweaked very selectively.
Does the Complete 270 help identify alcohol intolerance?
This depends on the ingredients in the alcoholic beverage that you may be reacting to. The ImuPro Complete test includes common allergens found in wines, spirits and beers or ciders such as yeast, grapes, gluten, tannins and apples. Alcohol intolerance can also be diagnosed by the Histamine Intolerance test which measures the enzyme responsible for breaking down histamine (DAO). All alcoholic beverages cause a release of histamine in the body and are potent inhibitors of DAO.
What can I expect from my results?
Your blood serum sample is analysed in ImuPro’s German laboratories to determine the presence of specific IgG antibodies to a wide variety of individual foods including meat, gluten & non-gluten grains, fruit, vegetables, eggs, salads, legumes, soy, seeds & nuts, mushrooms, seafoods, tea, coffee & wine, yeast, milk products, spices & herbs, sweeteners, perservatives, thickening agents, algae and Candida albicans. These IgG antibodies are detected due to their ability to bind to specific proteins in up to 270 analysed foods. Based on the results of the antibody titre, these foods are then categorised into three groups: not elevated, elevated and highly elevated.
The specific IgG concentrations determined by the ImuPro test do not necessarily reflect the occurrence or the severity of serious clinical symptoms. They offer the basis for you to begin an elimination and provocation diet. ImuPro guides you through this process with three phases, explained in your results: the elimination phase, the provocation phase, and the stabilisation phase.

Is ImuPro food sensitivity testing suitable during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Some women choose to explore food sensitivities before or during pregnancy as part of a broader focus on reducing unnecessary immune activation and supporting overall wellbeing. ImuPro testing can be performed during pregnancy and provides information about IgG antibody responses to specific foods, which may be helpful when reviewing dietary choices at this time.
IgG antibodies are the only class small enough to cross the placenta in late pregnancy and are also present during breastfeeding, so any dietary changes made on the basis of test results should be approached carefully and with appropriate professional guidance to ensure nutritional adequacy for both mother and child.
Will my blood sample spoil during shipping?
No. Your blood sample will be specially prepared by pathology (a process called “centrifuging”). This process ensures that the blood solids are separated from the clear liquid at the top (serum). The serum is what we require for testing. Serum is stable at room temperature for 7-8 days, can be refrigerated for 3 weeks or frozen for up to 12 months.
Does the Complete 270 help diagnose histamine intolerance?
No. A histamine intolerance can be caused by a lack of enzyme in your body called a Diamine Oxidase (DAO) Enzyme. This enzyme is responsible for breaking down the excess histamine that is contained in many foods. If you eat a meal rich in histamine (eg wine, cheese or chocolate) and you have low enzyme activity you are likely to suffer conditions such as red or itchy skin, runny nose, heachaches, nasal or sinus congestion. If you would like to test for histamine intolerance in addition to the Complete 270 foods, please purchase the ImuPro Bundle instead.
How do I know if this test is right for me?
Symptoms of food allergy and intolerance can give us a wide variety of symptoms but identifying the right cause is not always easy. When we talk about allergies to food we often think about immediate reactions like lips or eyes swelling, hives, etc. These are called classic IgE allergies and we usually have these for life. ImuPro specialises in delayed IgG responses that build up in your system and cause low grade inflammation.
Symptoms like IBS, bloating & gas, eczema, joint pain, fatigue, headache and weight gain etc can often be caused by having a monotonous diet but knowing exactly how to pinpoint those foods is almost impossible without testing. You can eat something for breakfast and not notice a symptom for up to 3 days.
If you’re suffering from any of the following symptoms: Gastrointestinal issues (bloating, diarrhea, IBS, etc), weight gain or inability to lose weight, headaches, skin conditions, joint pain, fatigue, anxiety… it may be something you’re eating.
Is IgG food testing accurate?
Your IgG food allergy test will be performed by a highly professional and specialised in vitro diagnostic laboratory. The lab will analyse your serum sample and determine the presence of specific IgG antibodies to a broad variety of foods. The antibodies are detected by their ability to bind to specific proteins from up to 270 analysed foods. Based on the results of the antibody titre, the foodstuffs are then categorised into three groups: not elevated, elevated and highly elevated.
The specific IgG concentrations determined by the test do not necessarily reflect the occurrence or the severity of serious clinical symptoms. They offer the basis for an elimination and provocation diet. ImuPro guides you through this process with three phases: the elimination, the provocation and the stabilisation phase.
Critics often argue that every human being produces IgG antibodies to foods and that allergies are rare. However, they are often referring to classic type I allergy and not sufficiently differentiating between types of antibodies. Type I allergies are associated with quick-reaction symptoms, e.g. a rash, hives or swelling. Such symptoms are usually based on the release of histamine in which IgE antibodies are involved. ImuPro, however, tests for IgG antibodies which can trigger delayed type III allergies – ImuPro does not test IgE mediated acute allergies (type I) or merely IgG-4-antibodies (non inflammatory). ImuPro tests for all subclasses of pro-inflammatory IgG (1, 2, 3 and 4). The differences with regard to types of allergy and the different classes of antibodies have to be kept in mind when evaluating the ImuPro test.
Note: ImuPro does not examine classic IgE-mediated allergies (type I) or intolerances to lactose, fructose and histamine. In such cases, specific test systems should be applied.
